Frequently Asked Questions
What type of paint do you use?
We use Sherwin-Williams® and/or Benjamin Moore® paints, the best in the industry.
How long will it take to paint my home?
The project time for residential painting varies based on the size of your home. At our free onsite consultation, we will provide an estimate of the number of days it will take us to complete your home.
Do you replace rotted wood, window trim, and siding?
Yes, our Crew Leaders are expert carpenters and we frequently replace rotted wood. For windows and other trim, we use PVC which is moisture, termite and rot resistant, where available.
For siding, we use Hardie Plank®, a fiber cement siding which is designed to last against cracking, rotting, hail damage, termites and many other possible problems.
What do I need to do to get ready?
- Choose your new paint colors. Please note we can color match existing colors if you select to stay with your same colors.
- Remove nails and/or screws from walls/siding where you wish to have it caulked and permanently repaired.
- We do move indoor/outdoor furniture; however, we would recommend you move any fragile/breakable items from the areas we are going to paint.
- Plan your day according to the painting schedule. Our crews arrive around 8:30–9:00 a.m. each day and usually work until around 6:00 pm. However, we are happy to work around your schedule if needed.
Will your crews work on Saturday?
That is determined on a weekly basis with each Crew Leader and is dependent on the weather for exteriors.
What is the process once you start?
On the first day, the Project Manager comes to your home to meet with the crew and review the project. On the first day (or before), we need to collect any new paint colors from you.
For exterior painting, we typically begin with the pressure washing. We then proceed to preparation work including caulking, sanding, priming and any repairs.
When the actual painting begins, we focus on the production work first (getting everything painted) before we focus on the details.
On the final day, when we are finished, the Crew Leader will let you know and you can do a walk-through with him to ensure that we have completed the job as agreed. We complete any touch-ups needed at that time.
Do I need to be at home?
For exterior painting, the answer is no. On the final day, we do ask you to be present to open windows and doors so we may complete those areas. On the final day, we like to do a walk-through with you to ensure that you are satisfied with the project.
For interior painting, that is up to you. Our crews have been with us several years and are very honest and trustworthy. On the final day, we ask you to be there for the walk-through and to ensure your satisfaction.
What happens a month after you complete my project and I find a touch-up?
You may either call or email the office and we promise to respond immediately and will have the crew return to take care of it.
What are your payment terms?
We ask for one-half on the first day of the job to pay for paint and other materials. We ask for the remaining balance on the final day after you have completed the walkthrough with the crew leader and are completely satisfied that we have completed the job as agreed.
